Richard Roberts explains that God created man in His own spiritual and moral likeness. But when man disobeyed God, his spirit died. That’s why Jesus said we must be born again. He was telling us to repent, to renounce taking our own way, and ask God to restore His divine nature in us. When we are reborn, the human spirit with which we were created is renewed.
